Active living excellence builds better cities for everyone

When we build high-quality facilities and give a lot more people the resources, skills, and confidence they need to get around safely and conveniently walking and biking – more people discover the ease and joy of active living, and our community becomes healthier, happier, and more prosperous.

The realization of a ten year vision for walking, biking, and trail town tourism.

If you’ve been through Downtown Redding recently, you may notice a lot of changes.  One of those changes is the quickly approaching completion of the Shasta Bike Depot on the corner of Shasta and California Streets.

21st Century amenities to empower and encourage cycling excellence and trail tourism to raise Redding & Shasta County into the ranks of top places for active, healthy living.

The Bike Depot will support trail enthusiasts of all kinds for walking, biking and clean mobility options.  We will soon have the North State’s first secure, long-term bicycle garage, and will have an adjacent bicycle-friendly café.

We are creating a social and practical hub for local riders and trail enthusiasts, in addition to people visiting from out of town.   With services and amenities for active living and clean mobility.

  • Long-term bike parking
  • Downtown Redding E-Bikeshare
  • Visitor services, Guided e-bike tours of the Sacramento River Trail
  • Information exchange, Social hub
  • Youth programs
  • E-bike charging station
  • Encouragement events
