GoShasta Update

The GoShasta Regional Active Transportation Plan Update

As always, Your Voice Makes a Difference!

The Shasta Regional Transportation Agency is now leading an effort to update the 2018 GoShasta Regional Active Transportation Plan.

The GoShasta Update study and plans cover the regional area, including: Cities of Redding, Shasta Lake, and Anderson, as well as the unincorporated towns and places throughout Shasta County.

Through the planning process SRTA works closely with agency partners and prioritizes a variety of ways to share and gather ideas and priorities from agency staff and people in the community. That means you.

Shasta Living Streets is the public engagement partner to help spread the word and help gather community ideas.

What is the GoShasta Update?

We know this is a place people enjoy being outside and active.
People in our community engage in many forms of outdoor active living, including hiking, swimming, ranching, running, helping kids walk to school, playing pickleball, riding a bike, and taking an evening stroll in the neighborhood.

The GoShasta Update is a process that recognizes this local interest and works with people across the community to develop transportation options for safe walking, biking, and transit connections.

With these plans and community support, our local agencies can secure funding and build valuable transportation connections.

Enabling more people to be outside and active in our cities, towns and neighborhoods, supporting the relaxed outdoor living our residents and visitors appreciate.

A New Vision of Improvements for the Future of Shasta County

Now it is time to work together to consider possibilities and again dream big.  The GoShasta Update is a process to engage people to consider options and share their transportation needs.

The ideas and feedback from the community will help us identify challenges and opportunities for safe travel, connected neighborhoods, and thriving businesses.

The GoShasta Update helps local agencies develop the next round of projects, secure funding, and build improvements to support vibrant downtowns, thriving business districts, and pleasant neighborhoods.

We want to hear about your experience getting around the County

We will be looking for answers to these types of questions:

Where do you like to go in our region, and how do you get there?

Where do you dream of walking, riding your bike, or using transit that
you can’t easily do now?

What are the biggest barriers to getting where you want to go?

Where do you drive that you wish had more separation from people
walking or biking?

How to be involved

Whether you walk, bike, roll, take transit, or mostly drive, we need your help to consider and identify transportation improvements to build a more connected, safe, and thriving place to live, work, and play.

We don’t ask often, but right now your input is essential to identify and design improvements.

Today we ask

Please add your thoughts:  Transportation Needs Community Survey – bike, walk, transit

Tell us about what actually matters: what’s working in your life, what isn’t, and what your community needs.

Your voice makes a difference.  Takes only a few minutes to complete.

Please share this survey with others.

Thank you.

Your responses contribute to an understanding of opportunities that will help define the initial review of biking, walking, and transit transportation improvement needs.  This first iteration will be compiled and shared with the community.  People will again have a chance to share ideas and make comments on the identified projects.
