May 3-18, 2014.  Bike Commute Challenge.  With 57 teams registered, this is the largest Bike Challenge ever!   Energizer Stations  choose from a variety of dates, times & locations.

May 8, 15, 23.  (Th, Th, Fri)  Blazing Saddles  Fun ride for families and individuals on our beautiful local trails.  Delicious food following a nice ride.


May 16, 2014.  6 am – 10 am.   Pancake Breakfast Redding Rodeo.  Free pancakes and bicycle parking for people who ride their bikes to the breakfast!  Courtesy of the Shasta Wheelman.

May 16  Yoga for Bicyclists ($) (RSVP required)  If you’ve been logging miles by bike during the bike challenge, you will be ready for this class!  Preregistration required at www.consciouslivingyoga.com/events/37/yoga-for-bicyclists-wsara.  5:30 – 7:00 pm; House of Conscious Living Yoga, 1225 Tehama Street, Redding.   Cost: $5 if you bike there, $10 if you don’t bike.

May 16  Bike to Happy Hour for Bike to Work Day.  4pm-8pm and beyond at Carnegies.  For anyone curious about bicycling and best ideas.  Come meet people who ride locally and swap ideas, tips and stories.   Sponsored by Carnegies and Shasta Living Streets.

May 16, 2014.  Bike-In Movie with Enjoy Magazine.  In the Downtown Redding Promenade.

May 17, 2014.  Redding Rodeo Parade.  We ride too!  Dress-up as a cowboy or in your favorite biking outfit and join others on their bicycles as we ride in the Redding Rodeo Parade.  Hosted by the Shasta Wheelman and Shasta Living Streets.

May 16-18, 2014.   Lassen National Park Open Streets. Vehicle Free Weekend Enjoy walking, running, or biking on the 30-mile park highway during a vehicle free weekend before it opens to through traffic for the summer season. Read the handout to learn more about the vehicle free weekend.

May 17, 2014.   Whiskeytown Duathalon  Shasta Mine Loop Parking Lot. 8:30 am, 3.0M Run, 8M Bike, 3.0M Run.

May 17, 2014.  Anderson River Park Century.  Ride starts at Anderson River Park and includes gradual climbs in the surrounding hills and beautiful scenery along the Sacramento river. Sponsored by the Enterprise and Anderson Lions Clubs.

May 21, 2014.  Ride of Silence.  World-wide event to honor those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.  7pm.  Meet at the Sundail Bridge for a 10 mile slow ride.  Hosted by the Shasta Wheelman.   

May 24, 2014.   The Art of Survival Century.  A new century ride in beautiful north eastern California and southern Oregon.  Tulelake, Klamath Falls.

May 11-18, 2014.  Amgen Tour of California.  The largest cycling event in America, a Tour de France-style cycling road race.  No, they have not held a stage here – not yet, but we know they will be riding the fantastic roads in the North State sometime in coming years.

June 5, 2014.  First of the regular Thursday night Market Street Faire events, and the evening bicycle ride through downtown - Rideabout Downtown.   Great way to cool off on a warm evening.  Explore downtown routes with friends and family enjoying beautiful streets and neighborhoods in downtown Redding.    Produced by Shasta Living Streets.  Every Thursday throughout the summer.  Rides leave at 7:30pm.

June 12, 2014.   Bike Challenge winners announced and Skate Movement Performs at Market Street Faire.

June 21, 2014.  Humbug Hurry-Up Race.  Mountain bike races in Yreka - Kids Race, 7, 15, and 24 mile courses.  Overnight Camping available.

June 21, 2014.  Castle Crags Century.  4 ride options – one is a spectacular 97 miles with 7800 feet climbing!

July 19, 2014.  Fall River Century.  In the beautiful northeastern California valley with views of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen.  

August 3, 2014.  The Mt. Shasta Summit Century.  “The prettiest, hardest century ride in the West.  Brought to you by the Mountain Wheelers.

September  2014.  Siskiyou Century.  Three scenic rural routes, plenty of good food, fully supported.  

Sunday, October 11, 2014.   Shasta Wheelmen Jamboree Rides featuring Super Century.   Soar on beautiful unknown mountain roads in the foothills of Mt. Lassen east of Redding.  Professionals and long-distance enthusiasts will enjoy the 126 mile ride with over 12,000 feet of climbing.    Supported routes include rides for everyone at 103, 63, 41,  and 26 miles.   Brought to you by the Shasta Wheelman.

October.  Biketoberfest.  City-wide event celebrating all things bicycle.  Hosted by the McCloud Chamber of Commerce.
