Saturday, April 26, 2014.  Shasta Lemurian Classic.  This mountain bike race is renowned for its epic loop, huge climbs and long, technical descents.  Brought to you by Redding Mountain Biking.  Founded in 1987.

April 26th.  Look for The Friends of the Redding Trails and other outdoor groups at The Whole Earth and Watershed Festival.

Sunday,  April 27, 2014.  The Chico Wildflower Century.   Regularly listed in Bicycling magazine as a Top Ten Century.   It was first offered as an organized event in 1981.

Saturday, May 3, 2014.   Give Me Wings Super Century.   Soar on beautiful unknown mountain roads in the foothills of Mt. Lassen east of Redding.  Professionals and long-distance enthusiasts will enjoy the 126 mile ride with over 12,000 feet of climbing.    Supported routes include rides for everyone at 103, 63, 41,  and 26 miles.   Brought to you by the Shasta Wheelman.

Saturday, May 3.    Fire Trek 2014.   Metric Century and Half Century rides through Little Shasta Valley in a scenic, pastoral setting with views of Mt. Shasta.  Plenty of food/rest stops, fully supported  and includes end of the ride dinner.  Fundraiser for the Klamath River Volunteer Fire Company.

Sunday, May 4.  Family Bicycling Day on Parkview Avenue.  Family, friends and neighbors meet and experience the neighborhood in a new way as a stretch of the city is transformed into a car-free zone for Sunday enjoyment.  Free to the community.   Produced by Shasta Living Streets  10am-4pm.

May 2014.  Bike Commute Challenge.

May 7th, 2014.   Bike to School Day.  Walk or ride with your kids to school!  Talk with other parents and your school leaders and get a group together to host a “riding school bus“.  Many local events and activities sponsored by Safe Routes to School, Healthy Shasta.

May 16, 2014.  6 am – 10 am.   Pancake Breakfast Redding Rodeo.  Free pancakes and bicycle parking for people who ride their bikes to the breakfast!  Courtesy of the Shasta Wheelman.

May 16th noon-2:00.  Caltrans District 2 hosts  “Ride with a Transportation Official” on the River trail for all those interested.  It will be a leisurely ride around the River Trail with our District Director John Bulinski.  Riders will have the chance to meet and ask questions while having a pleasurable ride.

May 16  Bike to Happy Hour for Bike to Work Day.  4pm-7pm and beyond at Carnegies.  For anyone curious about bicycling and best ideas.  Come meet people who ride locally and swap ideas, tips and stories.   Sponsored by Carnegies and Shasta Living Streets.

May 17, 2014.  Redding Rodeo Parade.  We ride too!  Dress-up as a cowboy or in your favorite biking outfit and join others on their bicycles as we ride in the Redding Rodeo Parade.  Hosted by the Shasta Wheelman and Shasta Living Streets.

May 17th, 2014.  Anderson River Park Century.  Ride starts at Anderson River Park and includes gradual climbs in the surrounding hills and beautiful scenery along the Sacramento river. Sponsored by the Enterprise and Anderson Lions Clubs.

Sunday May 18, 2014.  Palo Cedro Bike Parade and Zany Races.  Ride a route from Junction School to Palo Cedro Community Park for a BBQ and more fun.  Noon to 5pm.

May 21, 2014.  Ride of Silence.  World-wide event to honor those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.  7pm.  Meet at the Sundail Bridge for a 10 mile slow ride.  Hosted by the Shasta Wheelman.   

May 24, 2014.   The Art of Survival Century.  A new century ride in beautiful north eastern California and southern Oregon.  Tulelake, Klamath Falls.

May & June 2014.  Blazing Saddles.  Fun ride for families and individuals on our beautiful local trails. Delicious food following a nice ride.

May 11-18, 2014.  Amgen Tour of California.  The largest cycling event in America, a Tour de France-style cycling road race.  No, they have not held a stage here – not yet, but we know they will be riding the fantastic roads in the North State sometime in coming years.

June 5, 2014.  First of the regular Thursday night Market Street Faire events, and the evening bicycle ride through downtown - Rideabout Downtown.   Great way to cool off on a warm evening.  Explore downtown routes with friends and family enjoying beautiful streets and neighborhoods in downtown Redding.    Produced by Shasta Living Streets.  Every Thursday throughout the summer.  Rides leave at 7:30pm.

June 21, 2014.  Humbug Hurry-Up Race.  Mountain bike races in Yreka - Kids Race, 7, 15, and 24 mile courses.  Overnight Camping available.

June 21, 2014.  Castle Crags Century.  4 ride options – one is a spectacular 97 miles with 7800 feet climbing!

July 19, 2014.  Fall River Century.  In the beautiful northeastern California valley with views of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen.  

August 3, 2014.  The Mt. Shasta Summit Century.  “The prettiest, hardest century ride in the West.  Brought to you by the Mountain Wheelers.

September  2014.  Siskiyou Century.  Three scenic rural routes, plenty of good food, fully supported.  

October.  Biketoberfest.  City-wide event celebrating all things bicycle.  Hosted by the McCloud Chamber of Commerce.

October.  The Crazy Eight.  60 Miles, 6117 Feet of Climbing.  Post ride lunch Includes complimentary Wine Tasting at Ringtail Winery in Manton.  Produced by Dark Horse Events.
