September 12, 2015.  Siskiyou Century.  Three scenic rural routes, plenty of good food, fully supported.   Yreka, CA

September 13, 2015.  Chico Velo Challenge Fondo enables access for ALL athletes including the visually impaired, hand-cyclists and wheelchair users. A Fondo is a cross between a Century ride and a bike race. 100, 65, 50 mile routes offer riders mass-start, timed events, traveling a tough hilly course on mostly lightly-traveled back-roads, with just a few city intersections. The Piccolo 30 is a more leisurely flat ride through the orchards and farms, and there will be 3 and 10 mile fun ride!

September 19 & 20, 2015.  Unknown Coast Weekend  Join Chico Velo for a fun-filled weekend touring the quiet coastal towns of Ferndale, Honeydew, and Petrolia for two extremely hilly, but scenic days – 65 miles on Saturday and 35 miles on Sunday.

Saturday, September 26, 2015.  Biketoberfest.  City-wide event celebrating all things bicycle.  Hosted by the McCloud Chamber of Commerce.

Sacramento River Trail Clean-Up Make a substantial contribution in the heart of Redding with a single morning of labor.  Join hundreds of enthusiastic locals working to maintain our beautiful trails and river ecosystem. Saturday, October 10, 2015.   Shasta Jamboree Rides featuring Super Century.   Soar on beautiful unknown mountain roads in the foothills of Mt. Lassen east of Redding.  Professionals and long-distance enthusiasts will enjoy the 126 mile ride with over 12,000 feet of climbing.    Supported routes include rides for everyone at 103, 63, 41,  and 26 miles.   Brought to you by the Shasta Wheelman and Shasta Living Streets.

April 2016.   Friends of the Redding Trails Tricycle Obstacle Race.   Bring the family to enjoy a child’s tour to ride and see eagles nesting along the trail.    First 5 Shasta Week of the Young Child.

April  2016.   The Whole Earth Hustle – and the Whole Earth and Watershed Festival  Shasta Wheelmen provide FREE bicycle parking for everyone at the Whole Earth Festival.

April, 2016.  Shasta Lemurian Classic.  This mountain bike race is renowned for its epic loop, huge climbs and long, technical descents.  Brought to you by Redding Mountain Biking.  Founded in 1987.

April  2016. Chico Wildflower Century has grown steadily over the years. About 3,000 riders take to the hills (Wildcat 125 or 100, and Wildflower 100 or 65), about 900 ride the Flatflowers (60, 30 or 12 mile) and over 200 young cyclists ride the Childflower 12 on the bike path to participate in the Butte Bike Coalition Bike Skills Rodeo.

Wednesday,  May 2016.  Bike to School Day.  Walk or ride with your kids to school!  Talk with other parents and your school leaders and get a group together to host a “riding school bus“.  Many local events and activities sponsored by Safe Routes to School, Healthy Shasta.

Saturday May 2016.   Shasta Dam-Bridge Ride!  On the Sacramento River Trail,  32 mile ($100 + contribution) and 10 mile ($20).     A fundraising event to benefit a scholarship fund for Enterprise High School Seniors.

Mid-May.   Lassen National Park Vehicle Free Weekend  Enjoy walking, running, or biking on the 30-mile park highway during a vehicle free weekend before it opens to through traffic for the summer season. Read the handout to learn more about the vehicle free weekend.

May, 2016.  Anderson River Park Century.  Ride starts at Anderson River Park and includes gradual climbs in the surrounding hills and beautiful scenery along the Sacramento river. Sponsored by the Enterprise and Anderson Lions Clubs.

Wednesday, May 20, 2015.   Ride of Silence.  World-wide event to honor those who have been injured or killed while cycling on public roadways.  7pm.  Meet at the Sundail Bridge for a 10 mile slow ride.  Hosted by the Shasta Wheelman.

May, 2016.  The Art of Survival Century  A century ride in beautiful north eastern California and southern Oregon.  Rest stops combine excellent food and beverages with educational components, unique Ranger/Historian led talks.   Tulelake, CA.

June, 2016    Castle Crags Century.  Multiple ride options – one is a spectacular 97 miles with 7800 feet climbing!

June, 2016  Humbug Hurry-Up.  Mountain bike races in Yreka – race routes for kids and for more experienced riders.  Overnight Camping available.

July, 2016.    Fall River Century.  In the beautiful northeastern California valley with views of Mt. Shasta and Mt. Lassen.   

August, 2016  Mt. Shasta Summit Century The prettiest, hardest century ride in the West.
